Boston Bruins sign one-year contract with goaltender Tuukka Rask
Tuukka Rask is back with the B.
The club have reportedly signed the goalkeeper with a one-year salary of $ 1 million. The signature was first reported by PuckPedia.
Earlier today, the Bruins’ AHL affiliate in Providence released the veteran from a pro tryout without playing a game. His agent, Markus Lehto, had meanwhile teased a potential signing.
Rask, 34, is recovering from hip surgery that kept him out of play since the Bruins were eliminated in the playoffs last season. He played 24 games last year with a 15-5-2 record, .913 save percentage, 2.28 GAA and 3.3 goal save above average.
Acquired by the Bruins in 2006, Rask had a long career in Boston, playing 560 games in 14 years. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league’s top goalie in 2013-14 and was named a two-game all-star.
