The St. Louis Blues signed Scott Perunovich to a one-year, $775,000 contract extension on Saturday.
The 24-year-old defenseman, who could have become a restricted free agent on July 1, has not played with the Blues this season. He had shoulder surgery last summer and was traded to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Feb. 21 after completing rehabilitation. He finished the season with 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 22 AHL games.
Perunovich has played just 19 regular-season games for the Blues, in 2021-22, since being selected in the second round (45th overall) in the 2018 draft.
