Blue Jackets: Two-year contract extension for Olivier

Matthew Olivier agreed to a two-year, $2.2 million contract extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday.

Olivier, who could have become a restricted free agent on July 1, will earn an average of $1.1 million per season.

The 26-year-old Quebec forward has 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 66 games with the Blue Jackets this season.

Signed by the Nashville Predators as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2019, Olivier had 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 114 regular season games with the Predators and Blue Jackets, and was shut out in five Stanley Cup playoff games.
