Blue Jackets striker Patrik Laine placed on the injured list

Patrik Laine’s hot start was blocked.

The Finnish sniper was placed on the injured reserve on Thursday morning, the team said, after the striker left Wednesday night’s game.

Laine collided with Avs defenseman Bowen Byram late in the game and it left Laine with a slant that should keep him out of the roster for four to six weeks.

The 23-year-old has scored three goals and 10 points in nine games this season.
