Bitcoin: Australian sport is getting into the cryptocurrency era
Sports and Tech – Crypto.com had signed a sponsorship deal with Formula 1 in June 2021. The following month, the exchange did the same with the UFC. In 2022, Crypto.com is continuing its visibility strategy based on collaborations with major sports players. The platform has just entered into a partnership with a sports organization in Australia.

On January 17, 2022, Crypto.com announces the signing of a $25 million deal over five years with the Australian Football League (AFL). This partnership in favor of the AFL women’s league, is the first sponsorship of the crypto exchange in Australian sport.
For comparison, the amount of this agreement exceeds Toyota’s sponsorship of the AFL in 2019 which amounted to 18.5 million dollars over four years.
According to the AFL’s Director of Commercial and Customer Relations, Kylie Rogers, the League and Crypto.com share a common vision, that of « advancing the future of elite sport and technology ».
Crypto.com wants to become the benchmark crypto platform in Australia. Crypto.com Asia & Pacific Managing Director Karl Mohan says the company was reportedly drawn to the relatively high number of Australian women interested in cryptocurrencies.

Crypto.com’s latest survey of Australian consumers indeed reveals that 53% of crypto investors are women.
