Beniers will miss the next two Kraken matches


Matty Beniers Seattle Kraken will miss the next two games, Seattle coach Dave Hakstol announced Friday.

Seattle is scheduled to face the Calgary Flames at Climate Pledge Arena on Friday (10 p.m. ET; ROOTNW, SN1, SNW, TVAS, ESPN+, SN NOW) and the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

« He won’t be available for our games today and tomorrow, » Hakstol said. I could tell that it is re-evaluated on a daily basis, but the fact remains that it will not be available. »

Beniers was injured in the second period during a 6-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday. He was hit by the Canucks defenseman Tyler Myerswho received a penalty for obstruction of play.

Beniers did not return to play at the start of the third period.

The rookie forward did not participate in Seattle’s morning practice on Friday.

Beniers leads all league rookies in goals (17) and points (36) and was selected to play in the 2023 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Feb. 4. Hakstol declined to comment on Beniers’ availability for this event.
