Bengals: Jessie Bates signs franchise tag and returns

There will be a 2022 season for Jessie Bates. The Bengals announced the re-signing of their safety, who therefore signed the franchise tag placed on him last March. He will therefore receive 12.9 million dollars.
According to ESPN, Bates returned to his team’s home on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old had 88 tackles, one interception and covered a fumble in 15 games last season. He was also decisive in the playoffs, with 20 tackles and 2 interceptions in 4 games.
This return will allow the Bengals to benefit from a good depth in defense. The rookie Dax Hill and Michael Thomas will be behind Bates and Von Bell on the safeties positions.
