Belgium candidate for the organization of the next « Final 4 » of the League of Nations


Belgium is one of the candidate nations for the organization of the final phase of the next edition of the League of Nations, like Poland, the Netherlands and Wales, announced UEFA on Wednesday. After Italy, host in Milan and Turin of the “Final 4” of the 2021 edition in October, these four nations have “ declared their interest for the organization of the event scheduled for June 14-18, 2023, according to UEFA.

Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Wales are all four in Group 4 of League A, the first division of this competition. Only the winner of this group will reach the final phase alongside the three other winners of the group stage, and could thus play at home.

During the first two editions, the candidates for the organization of the « Final 4 » were already in the same pool, and the winner of the pool had been designated as the host country (Portugal, then Italy). UEFA has this time simply specified that it will appoint the organizer of the 3rd edition in January 2023.

The 2022-23 edition will be launched in June 2022 (four matches per first division nation) and will continue in September (two matches). Defending champions France face Croatia, Austria and Denmark in Group 1.
