Arriving in Monaco at the age of 16 in the summer of 2018 from Anderlecht, Matazo was incorporated into the first team squad by Niko Kovac upon his arrival at the start of last season, at the same time as Sofiane Diop, while the two players were training on the sidelines of the workforce preparing for the season.

After discovering the L1 on September 27, 2020 against Strasbourg (3-2), Matazo played 10 games in the elite and four in the Coupe de France last season. This season, he entered the rotation in midfield, competing in particular with Youssouf Fofana and Aurélien Tchouameni. He played 11 L1 matches, including 6 as a starter, 5 European matches including two as a starter, and two Coupe de France matches as a starter. Before his extension until 2026, the Belgian international hope (3 caps) was under contract with Monaco until 2023.
