Beckham’s very nice gesture to encourage his fans to donate


David Beckham left his Instagram account to a Ukrainian doctor for a whole day this Sunday. The latter has published several stories to show her daily life at the prenatal center in Kharkiv, where the fighting is raging. The former England international wanted to encourage his 71.5 million followers to donate to UNICEF.

David Beckham wants to use his immense popularity on social networks to help Ukrainians. This Sunday, the former Manchester United or Real Madrid player left his Instagram account to a Ukrainian doctor working at the Kharkiv prenatal center.

« We’re probably risking our lives, but we don’t think about it at all »

All day, the UNICEF ambassador’s 71.5 million followers were able to follow the daily life of the doctor from Kharkiv, where fighting between Ukrainian and Russian troops is raging. Internet users were able to discover the cramped basement of the hospital where all pregnant women and new mothers were evacuated on the first day of the Russian invasion.

“We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” detailed the Ukrainian doctor. « We’re probably risking our lives, but we don’t think about it at all. We love our jobs…Doctors and nurses here, we worry, we cry, but none of us will give up. »
