Bale is ‘impossible’ to play against Chelsea, says his agent
Criticizing the way Gareth Bale was treated by Real Madrid, his agent, Jonathan Barnett, assured that it was impossible for him to take part in the Champions League quarter against Chelsea (on RMC Sport) on Wednesday.
Accustomed to the Spanish media, in which he empties his bag very regularly, Jonathan Barnett still dropped a bomb at Deportes Cuatro, on the eve of the long-awaited Champions League quarter between Chelsea and Real Madrid (on RMC Sport). Critical of the treatment of his player by the Spanish club for several months, Gareth Bale’s agent assured that it was simply « impossible » to see the Welshman take part in the C1 match on Wednesday.

« He’s still on the bench, so the one you’ll have to ask why he’s not playing is Mr Ancelotti. I’m not criticizing him, he just made a decision and it’s not to play Bale . But of course it’s coming from him, not the player, » Barnett said. However, the striker is indeed part of the list of summoned by his coach for the match. He could even aspire to playing time, as Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Isco are all missing in the attacking sector.
The press considered « ungrateful »
“The press has been very ungrateful to him, because they have nothing better to do. They have never spoken to him, they do not know him, continued the agent, who had nevertheless been very active in the coming of Bale at Real Madrid in 2013. If the fans had shown him affection everything would have been different. In a few years they will look back and remember what a great player he was at Real Madrid and what he did for this club. They are going to regret it. I hope this season they will say goodbye to him as he deserves. »
Since September, Bale, 33, has played just two games for Real, including a three-minute come-on in the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16. The Welshman was particularly hampered by the Covid-19 and then several injuries, but has mostly remained on the bench in recent days. His future at the end of the season, when he will be out of contract in June, should shake up the transfer window.
