The Goodell circuit announced earlier in the day a tightening of measures related to the coronavirus in the face of the increased spread of it. However, Mayfield didn’t understand why his scheduled evening game against the Vegas Raiders was still going on.

Sure enough, earlier in the week, team head coach Kevin Stefanski and running backs instructor Ryan Cordell tested positive for COVID-19. Then, Thursday morning, Case Keenum and Grant Delpit also received a positive result, bringing the number of cases within the organization to 20.

« Really worrying about the safety of your players would mean postponing the game, in light of the recent news, » Mayfield said on his Twitter account. But to say that you won’t test vaccinated players if they don’t have symptoms and then do that randomly, that doesn’t make sense to me. «

Mayfield also pointed out the confusion caused by the league’s scouting methods.

“Get a feel for the protocols,” he said. Show up and test only three teams? The whole thing to keep the game on the bill and make money. «
