At least one more week of absence for Brandon Ingram
The Pelicans have risen to the top of the West without their second All-Star. And we will have to wait a little longer before seeing again Brandon Ingram. The team has announced that he will be out for at least another week with a bruised left big toe.
Beaten last night in Utah, the Pelicans were deprived of their second leading scorer for the eighth game in a row. During the player’s rehabilitation last weekend, while trying to return to the game, he experienced a setback. The Pelicans have redone exams and while everything is clear – it is indeed a contusion – the team will be cautious with his return.
Reassessed in a week, the former Lakers player will thus miss the second round in Utah on Thursday, the trip to Phoenix on Saturday and finally the reception of the Bucks next Monday. A great program in short for this Pelicans team which had just won seven games in a row before losing last night.
This season, with the return to competition of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram has seen his average points and shots attempted drop. He has, however, never been so effective in his career at 3-pointers (47%).
