Arsenal must triple Martinelli’s salary to keep him

Gabriel Martinelli has been excellent since the start of the season and his latest performance saw him score in the 3-2 win over Liverpool last weekend, helping the Gunners maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League. The 21-year-old is becoming one of the hottest young talents in European football and Arsenal have started negotiations with Martinelli’s representatives for a new contract. The tempting offer will be hard to refuse and will discourage any clubs interested in the Brazilian, according to Football-Transfers.

Martinelli’s salary will increase

Martinelli’s new contract is set to see him earn £200,000 a week, almost triple his current salary of £70,000 a week, making it difficult for his rivals. For now, neither Arsenal nor Martinelli and their representatives are in a rush to complete the deal and they remain calm in the negotiations.

Martinelli is based in London and has no intention of leaving Arsenal – he is finding his feet under Mikel Arteta this season after a difficult few years at the start with the Gunners. Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are considered Arsenal’s highest paid players, earning over £200,000 a week, and Martinelli should join them at the top of the list.
