While the NHL season begins on October 7, Antoine Roussel still does not have a team. The 32-year-old French winger only stayed one year with the Arizona Coyotes (53 games played, 4 goals, 4 assists), who finished last in their conference.
But on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they would put Roussel on trial during their training camp, which begins Thursday. 71 players will be vying for a spot in the Pennsylvania franchise.
The Flyers will play six preseason games, against Boston (twice), Buffalo, Washington and the New York Islanders (twice). On October 10, the team’s final roster will be filed with the NHL. And on the 13th, Philadelphia will start its season against the New Jersey Devils.
