Another season for Monahan with the Canadiens

Sean Monahan agreed to a one-year, $1.985 million contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old forward has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) in 25 games with the Canadiens this season. His last game was played on December 5, 2022, when a lower-body injury ended his season.

Monahan was acquired by the Habs in a trade with the Calgary Flames on August 18.

The sixth overall pick of the 2013 Draft by the Flames, Monahan has 479 points (218 goals, 261 assists) in 681 games with Calgary and Montreal. He also has 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 30 playoff games.
