Another less interior for the Heat
After playing ten minutes in the win at Cleveland on Tuesday night, Orlando Robinson revealed that he was injured during the third quarter, following contact with Evan Mobley.
The verdict is in, and it’s a broken right thumb for the Heat’s replacement pivot. An injury that should rule him out for several weeks.
Undrafted in 2022, Orlando Robinson took advantage of the misfortunes of certain teammates to establish himself in Erik Spoelstra’s rotation as a backup for Bam Adebayo. In 24 games this season, he’s averaging 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds in 14 minutes. Correct stats, even if its impact goes beyond its quantified production.
It’s a new blow for Miami, still deprived of Omer Yurtseven and Nikola Jovic, and the alternatives for Erik Spoelstra are now very slim. The Heat coach thus has the possibility of reviving Dewayne Dedmon, who has been out of rotation since January 10, or of dusting off Udonis Haslem.
Unless the franchise takes advantage of 10-day contracts to try out a DeMarcus Cousins or a Hassan Whiteside. The latter has the advantage of knowing the house well…
