All-MLB Best Bets slate for Aug. 30 features Mariners-Tigers under, plus underdog game – Shaw Local

Every day one of our experts will suggest a better bet (or two or three) than mobile sportsbooks offer. It can be a traditional spread bet, a player prop, or one of the various odds boosts offered by the books.

Here are our best bets for Tuesday, August 30:

The game: MLB, Mariners at Tigers under 7.5 runs

Odds/bet: -105 ($31.50 to earn $30)

The book: Caesars Sportsbook

Time/TV: 6:10 p.m. (MLB.TV or MLB Extra Innings)

Our opinion : Neither the Mariners nor the Tigers have been consistent sources of points this season, and we expect them to be tough to come by again tonight in a game featuring two promising young starting pitchers.

The Mariners will start rookie George Kirby, who has become one of their most reliable starting pitchers and should have no problem containing a Tigers roster that ranks dead last in MLB in runs scored this season. .

On the slippery side, the Tigers will start a promising young arm in Matt Manning, who has recently risen and isn’t expected to give up many runs where the total is expected to stay below eight, although Kirby is surprisingly struggling.

The game: Royals (money line) on White Sox

Odds/bet: +110 ($10 to earn $11)

The book: Caesars Sportsbook

Time/TV: 7:10 p.m. (MLB.TV or MLB Extra Innings)

Our opinion : The Royals haven’t had reliable pitching this season, but the one starter they’ve had is Brady Singer.

The singer takes the mound tonight against a struggling White Sox team who will counter with Lucas Giolito, who has been hugely inconsistent in what has been a disappointing season considering he was among Cy Young’s pre-season favorites .

The Royals roster should be able to generate enough support for Singer where he should be able to beat Giolito, so there is value to be had here even if the Royals aren’t as big underdogs as they normally are. .

Monday’s best bets

  • MLB: Cardinals vs. Reds on 9.5 runs (WIN $30)
  • MLB player prop: Jose Berrios over 5.5 strikeouts (LOST $20)
  • MLB player prop: Carlos Rodon over 6.5 strikeouts (LOST $11.90)

Monday profit/loss: -$1.90 (1-2)

Total for the week: -$1.90 (1-2)

Total for August: +$76.80 (30-32)

Total for 2022: -$63.30 (221-247)

REMARK: If a line or odds are negative, it considers the juice needed to place the bet. Ex: Team A is at -160 on the money line, you would have to bet $160 to win $100 (or $16 to win $10). OR Team B is a 5 point favorite at -110, you would have to bet $110 to win $100 (or $11 to win $10.)

Conversely, on the positive lines, if Team C is at +140 on the money line, a $100 will win $140 (or $10 to win $14).
