Tagliani will be the first number 8 Riley-Ford driver, with two or three other teammates to be announced. He will also be registered on the team’s second car, No.2 entrusted to Allan McNish, Sébastien Bourdais, Alex Popow and Ryan Dalziel, so that he can take the wheel of this car in the event of one of the drivers failing. holders.

This is the first time that Alex Tagliani will take part in this event at the controls of a prototype, he who impressed for his debut in the series (Grand-Am) last year, during the Montreal race.

Starworks is one of the most important teams currently playing in the endurance racing world, having notably won the LMP2 class at the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship in the same category. . In Grand-Am, Sébastien Bourdais and Alex Popow won last year in Indianapolis at the helm of one of the Riley-Fords of this American team, funded by sponsors from Venezuela. To start at the 24 Hours of Daytona, Alex could not therefore dream of a better team!
