Alex Ovechkin scores 750th NHL goal
It is a mythical bar that only three hockey players before him had crossed. On the night of Saturday to Sunday, the Russian Alex Ovechkin, goalscorer for the Washington Capitals scored his 750th NHL goal to enter the very closed circle of snipers of the American National Hockey League with Wayne Gretzky (894), Gordie Howe (801) and Jaromir Jagr (766).
The 36-year-old Russian gave his side a 2-0 lead in the second round against the Columbus Blue Jackets, after Aliaksei Protas’ opener. Ultimately winners 3-1, the Capitals stay the course at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
In this same match, the French Alexandre Texier in verve in recent weeks was aligned with the 3rd offensive trio of the Blue Jackets, playing 17’25 and shooting twice from the cage.
