Brady Manek definitely seems to be enjoying himself in North Carolina: after a very good « senior » season in the NCAA with the North Carolina Tar Heels, the strong winger will try to earn his place with the Hornets in the NBA in the coming days.

Not drafted this year, he has indeed joined the Charlotte Summer League team, alongside Mark Williams of Duke, beaten by the Tar Heels in the Final Four and selected in 15th position by Michael Jordan, but also LiAngelo Ball, or Kai Jones and JT Thor, last year’s draftees.

As a reminder, Brady Manek joined North Carolina through the « transfer portal » in the spring of 2021, after four seasons at Oklahoma University. In a fleeing interior role very complementary to pivot Armando Bacot, he was a hit, posting an average of 15.1 points per game, at 40.3% success at 3-pts, with more than six attempts per game.

» I can still do better in shooting. he said of what he hopes to demonstrate in the Summer League.  » And then, I want to progress as a creator, with the ball, or without. Overall, to continue to be effective within a collective, to know where to place myself according to others. »

After a successful 2021/22 season in North Carolina at the college level, both personally and collectively with Tar Heels reaching the national final, Brady Manek is now hoping to take the try to the next level.

» It’s very cool, I’m happy that a team gave me a chance. It’s a nice feeling, we feel that our goal is near. I will fully live this experience, and then I will see where it takes me, hoping as far as possible. Added the native of Oklahoma this Wednesday, after training for the Hornets Summer League version.
