After Matvei Michkov, now they are seriously considering choosing Leo Carlsson

If there was a time machine, I would pay dearly so that we could be transported to the party next Wednesday, June 28.
The first round of the NHL Draft will be full of surprises and that’s why everyone is so excited to see what will it give. We know that Connor Bedard is a lock in the front row…
But things could start to unravel pretty quickly thereafter.
Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, Will Smith and Matvei Michkov are often referred to as the four other « best prospects » of the draft and we don’t really know in what order they will come out.
They’re all so good that right now the Ducks seem to be having a hard time making their ultimate pick. The possibility of seeing them select Michkov has been discussed in the last few days…
And now the team seems to have Leo Carlsson in their sights according to information from John Hoven, a guy who is plugged in California and who regularly discusses the Los Angeles Kings on the radio for the channel SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.
One week out…
Continuing to hear Anaheim Ducks will take Leo Carlsson at No. 2. Guess we’ll find out next Wednesday.

I am not afraid to affirm it.
I don’t think you have to believe that Adam Fantilli is guaranteed to come out second overall, even though he had quite a year in the NCAA with the University of Michigan.
In fact, I refuse to believe that this is a certainty. Maybe he will become quite a player in the NHL, Fantilli. But, I’m part of the group of people who are not necessarily convinced when we talk about him, especially because he greatly disappointed me at the World Junior Championship.
Again, I don’t want to believe that he will become a flop because in fact, the youngster has interesting assets for the NHL. He’s big and has good skating, which should help him on his big league debut.
Brief. Maybe I’m wrong, too. And, there aren’t really any right answers right now because there’s so much that can happen by then.
Let’s not forget that anything can happen in the draft. We only have to think of the 2022 draft to show it: Shane Wright was seen by many as the logical first choice, and he was finally selected fourth overall by the Seattle Kraken.
In all this uncertainty, there is one thing that is clear, however. The Ducks are spoiled for choice…
And the odds are they’ll get their hands on a great player no matter what decision is made.
