After Bradley Beal, the Suns on another big name for their superteam!
[ad_1]
By introducing Bradley Beal to the workforce a few days ago via a blockbuster trade, the Suns clearly assumed the objective of creating a superteam. If we could have thought that it was going to stop there, the leaders checked off another big name in their shortlist. Yet another All-Star could join the roster if the dominoes line up…
In Phoenix, the objective is clear. With the arrival of Bradley Beal, the big names are now seriously stacked, and the title will be an obligation for the leaders from next season. The trio formed by former Wizard, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant is indeed for the moment what is done best or almost on paper in the NBA. Suffering a disappointment like that of last season is therefore inevitably unthinkable given the risks taken by the front office.
By being eliminated by Denver quite curtly in the second round, Phoenix did not really meet the expectations placed following the arrival of Kevin Durant at the trade deadline. Bradley Beal therefore perhaps comes with the hero costume in Arizona to silence all the criticisms that have been swirling around for several months now. However, he might not be the only player to land, since the Suns are still active on the market…
A new All-Star targeted by Phoenix!
Given the slew of stars in Phoenix’s roster, observers expect role players come in their turn. Free agency is also often an opportunity to sniff out some good moves, like what can Dallas do right now. However, the front office of the Suns seems to be adopting a completely different tactic since it is now Tobias Harris who would be in the sights according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer :
A source said the Suns want Harris to play alongside Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. And they want to acquire it before the start of the Free Agency which will start on June 30th. The Sixers have zero interest in any of the players the Suns would make available. Phoenix therefore wants the Sixers to bring in a third team to facilitate the deal, according to a source. However, the Sixers don’t want to do that.
After Beal, the Suns are therefore attacking another All-Star! Even if Keith Pompey tells us that no counterpart currently satisfies the Sixers, Tobias Harris is indeed the next major player in the sights on the side of the desert. Author of a lackluster season with Philly, the winger especially has one of the most disproportionate contracts in the league with his 39 million dollars next year. Surprising, therefore, that Phoenix is interested in it.
In this case, the Suns will also have competition and will face the ferocity of the Sixers. Mentioned in a potential deal with Cleveland, the former Clippers saw his current franchise ask for a completely crazy package to let him go. The situation therefore remains unresolved for the moment, but it is difficult to imagine him putting down his luggage in Phoenix…
Next season, Phoenix will be expected at the turn. The team now coached by Frank Vogel stacks the stars and seems to want to continue on this path with the idea of Tobias Harris. If it fails, the franchise could experience some rather tumultuous times…
