Africa-Football: Between Anthony Baffoe and CAF, it’s over
After more than 3 years and more in the service of African football, Anthony Baffoe, Deputy Secretary General of the African Football Confederation (CAF) in charge of football development, returned his apron.
Anthony Baffoe himself announced his resignation during a videoconference with his colleagues this Wednesday, June 30, 2021, citing a decision “Taken three months ago for personal reasons”.
Welcoming his now ex-collaborators for their many support for the development of African football, the Ghanaian said he is leaving without any apprehension.
“I am leaving with my head held high because, with your support, we have overcome many steps and many obstacles in the development and promotion of African football. As the first footballer to hold such a high management position, I have no doubts that I will not be the last. My fellow legends, thank you for the support and my family for always being my rock ”, did he declare.
Appointed Deputy Secretary General of CAF in 2017, Anthony Baffoe (former Ghanaian international defender) is the first footballer to occupy such a high post within the African body.
