A young Frenchman soon to be a teammate of LeBron James at the Lakers?!

Seeking every possible bargain in the market, the Lakers have been testing a few free agents again for the past few hours. Among them, a young Frenchie who has rather distinguished himself this season in the NBA!

Franchise among the first established in the NBA, it has paradoxically seen very few elements from France. The common history between the Lakers and France is indeed rather limited, with only three tricolor players past in the Purple & Gold ranks. Unlike Ronny Turiaf, the last two to date, Joel Ayayi and Sekou Doumbouya, have not met with much success there. A fourth could nevertheless be added to the list very soon.

Olivier Sarr tested by the Lakers

At the dawn of a season of all dangers, the Angelinos are trying to strengthen their workforce as well as possible, and as skilfully as possible. This will not necessarily pass small contracts, and therefore good picks on the market. After having already tested several free agents a few days ago much to the concern of fansothers had the same chance, including a certain… Olivier Sarr!

The Lakers held a free agent mini-camp on Tuesday, which included former 2nd draft pick Derrick Williams and veteran Darren Collison, according to league sources. Among the other participants: Justin Tillman, Craig Randall II, Sindarius Thornwell, Olivier Sarr, Antonio Blakeney and Jaylen Adams.

Undrafted when he left the NCAA a year ago, Sarr hasn’t given up on his dream of playing in the league. Rightly so, since he ended up convincing the Thunder and Mark Daigneault to offer him an opportunity to show himself. Appeared 22 times under the colors of OKC, the 23-year-old stretch big took the opportunity to sign some remarkable performancesbefore being cut by its leaders at the start of the end of the season.

Due to his interior profile of 2m13 capable of sanctioning 3 points (44.8% success rate, 1.3 attempts per game last year), Sarr can still believe he has his place across the Atlantic, and why not at the Lakers. After all, the LA roster doesn’t yet have such a pivot capable of staying dangerous while freeing up the paint for LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. Hope his workout went well!

Interesting in Oklahoma City in recent months, Olivier Sarr would have piqued the curiosity of the Lakers, who therefore offered him a chance to shine on Tuesday. To see if the young Frenchman has been able to pull out of the game, and seduce the Angelino scouts!
