A Toronto FC player in the sights of a Belgian club

Toronto FC striker Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty came close to packing his bags to join the prestigious Club Brugge in Belgium.

However, the two formations did not manage to agree before the conclusion of the summer transfer window in Europe.

This does not mean that the Belgian club has thrown in the towel in this case. According to the MLS Network, the team that qualified for the Champions League remains very interested in the services of the 18-year-old striker. A transfer could thus occur during the next transfer period in Europe, in January.

The Brampton, Ont., native has yet to represent his country at the senior level, but could be a part of the World Cup.

The one who has already trained with English clubs Liverpool FC and Arsenal is still looking for his first Major League Soccer goal. He had one assist in 25 career games.

Club Brugge already has two Canadian internationals in its ranks, forwards Tajon Buchanan and Cyle Larin.
