A third player designated for Toronto FC

Toronto FC have formalized the arrival of attacking midfielder Yeferson Soteldo on Monday.

The 23-year-old Venezuelan has thus become the third player designated in the formation of the Queen City, after Jozy Altidore and Alejandro Pozuelo.

The 5’2  » winger was until recently playing for Santos FC, a Brazilian club. Last Saturday, this team announced that Soteldo’s contract had been sold to a Major League Soccer team, without identifying it.

In 104 games with Santos FC, Soteldo has moved the strings 20 times.

« He’s a really sneaky player who’s good in tight spaces, » Toronto FC general manager Ali Curtis told TSN.

“He ticks the boxes we were looking for in a designated player. He is an offensive player who adds a different dimension to the wings. I think our fans will be delighted to see the TFC uniform, ”said Toronto FC president Bill Manning in a statement.

Soteldo and the Garber Circuit team are now contractually bound until 2025. He will join his new teammates as soon as he receives his international transfer certificate and work permit.
