a suspended penalty point for the TFC after the racist insults of a supporter

The professional football league inflicts a suspended sanction point on TFC. A supporter of the Toulouse club had uttered racist insults during a match against Rodez on December 13, 2021.

Toulouse, second in Ligue 2, was sanctioned by the withdrawal of a suspended point because of the racist insults uttered by one of his supporters against the Rodez goalkeeper during the match between the two clubs on December 13, announced on Wednesday January 12 the Professional Football League (LFP).
Lionel Mpasi, the goalkeeper of the Rodez football club, had been targeted by racist remarks at the end of the match, while Rodez had just equalized (final score 1-1).

In a statement, the Toulouse Football Club apologized to the player, denounced the attitude of the supporter and promised a sanction.
After examining the case, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League therefore withdrew a suspended point in Toulouse, runner-up to Ajaccio in the Ligue 2 standings with 37 points, against 38 at the Corsican club.

The TFC deplores this sanction which it considers « unfair and disproportionate ». On its website, the club says it has « demonstrated rigor and flawless exemplarity throughout the investigation ». He plans to appeal.
