Although it does not have a team in the MLS NEXT championship, CF Montreal will send Academy defender Thomas Bouffard to the development league all-star game on August 10 in Minnesota.

To be eligible for this event, players must be born in 2004 or later and have taken part in one of the national MLS NEXT events this season, the Bleu-Blanc-Noir explained in a press release. Bouffard, 17, was thus chosen among the 45 representatives of the circuit by a selection committee.
The fullback joined the CF Montreal Academy in 2018 from the Saint-Lambert Soccer Association. He evolved with the U-23 this year, in the Premier League of Soccer of Quebec (PLSQ).
