The NFL Draft will take place at the end of April and Quebecer Matthew Bergeron is sure to make one of the 32 teams on the Goodell circuit happy.

Bergeron, a 6’5 and 318 colossus from Victoriaville, could, according to experts, be selected as early as the second or third round.

The 23-year-old offensive lineman has just returned from the traditional “Combine” where he was able to showcase all his assets and all his skills.

“It was really a great experience, underlined Bergeron, Thursday, during the emission Hi hello on TVA. I’ve been preparing for this moment for three months. It was an unforgettable experience. (…) I am really proud of my performance. It’s definitely something I’ll cherish all my life. »

Bergeron, who wears the colors of the Syracuse University Orange, has also taken care to highlight his leadership abilities during the interviews in which he took part.

“I think it was in those moments that I stood out,” continued the man who played college football with the Cégep de Thetford Mines team. I think my personality and what I bring to the players’ room is really important to me. Be a captain and be a leader. I think I am a natural leader.

“I think in those interviews I got my point across. Yes, I’m a good athlete and a good football player, but I’m a good person and I’m someone you would like to have in your players’ room.

The Quebecer will now take part in the NFL’s « Pro Day » on his university campus; another opportunity to show off.
