A professional footballer from Nîmes Olympique has been in custody since Monday at the Nîmes police station. He was reportedly arrested by the police for alleged acts of « resorting to prostitution of minors », after having filed a complaint for the theft of his car.
A footballer from the Nîmes Olympique pro team was taken into custody at the police station on Monday afternoon. His name has not been released at this time. The 25-year-old is suspected of having used two underage prostitutes this weekend. He was absent from the Nîmes squad which faced Ajaccio on Monday night in the League 2 championship.
Charged facts that he would have recognized during his hearing by the men of the departmental security of Gard.
The prosecution has opened an investigation for the use of underage prostitutes.
A complaint for theft that gets out of hand
It all started with a complaint filed by the player himself for the theft of his car, an Audi Q3, by two young underage women with whom he had paid relations. A third adult woman, aged 18, is also believed to be involved in the theft.
Heard by the police, the two prostitutes, aged 17, recognized the theft but they also explained the relationship they had with the player.
The Nîmes Olympique professional could be charged with « resorting to the prostitution of minors » and referred to a magistrate in the evening.
