A conference on harassment in sport on Tuesday, September 20, at Relecq-Kerhuon – Le Relecq-Kerhuon
The Relecq-Kerhuon sports office is organizing a conference on the theme of harassment in sport, this Tuesday, September 20, 2022, whose speakers will be Émilie Guillou, specialist educator, and Marc Ollivier, from the Education League. This conference will be an opportunity for the participants to share their experiences, and for the speakers to make reminders of legality and good practices.
Legal notions and means of action
“Harassment takes different forms: it can be verbal, digital, physical but also sexual violence. We will take the time to explain how certain practices are inappropriate and should not take place in the world of sport”, indicate the speakers. They will also recall the means of action and especially the obligation to act in connection with article 434 of the penal code. « The fact, for anyone who has knowledge of a crime the effects of which it is still possible to prevent or limit, or whose perpetrators are likely to commit new crimes which could be prevented, of not informing the judicial authorities or administrative is punished by three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €45,000 ». In terms of the protection of minors, the notion of slanderous denunciation does not apply.
Awaken everyone’s vigilance
This conference is for everyone: supervisors, parents, young people, sports enthusiasts or not. Its purpose is to raise everyone’s awareness of violence against minors. “For a young person who experiences violence, there are signs that can alert those around them. You have to know how to detect them”, add the two speakers.
