Still in the shadow of the Ultra and the Future, the King is nonetheless present in PUMA’s football range. The proof with the new collaboration with Porsche.
After Mercedes, it is the world of Porsche that lands on the crampons PUMA. Historically very close to the world of motorsport, the German equipment manufacturer PUMA once again crosses paths with two very different worlds within an unprecedented collaboration. After the Ultra in the colors of Mercedes-AMG Petronas, it is the Porsche firm which invites itself on the King Platinum.
A long automotive history for PUMA
It is therefore far from the King of Maradona and Pelé that PUMA imagined this new drop. Still in the continuity of the version which had been presented in August 2021, the King Platinum 21 switches to turbo mode by taking up the codes of the emblematic Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 from 1974 since it is the logo of this car which appears on the flanks.
Designed around a mixture of black and yellow/gold, we always find technology KING Form of this pair and these ribs which have been designed with the aim of providing better touch on the ball.
For the rest, we find a high quality leather upper and which is therefore in line with the long line of this pair which is one of the most iconic in the history of football boots. Using the collaboration with Porsche, PUMA is trying to give a bit more visibility to this silo stuck in the shadow of Griezmann’s Ultra and Neymar’s Future. Despite this, it is difficult to hope to see the fruit of this association at the feet of a professional player. And that’s a shame.
