A calendar with 17 races in 2023
This Tuesday INDYCAR released a 17-race schedule for the 2023 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season. This calendar is neither more nor less than a copy of that of the 2022 season.
If some were expecting changes for the 2023 INDYCAR calendar, they have reason to be disappointed. Indeed the 2023 calendar is only a copy of that of this season with 17 races planned. The only « novelty » concerns the urban event of Detroit, which leaves Belle Isle, the island located on the Detroit River, for the city center of the most populated city of Michigan.
For the rest, no surprises. season will begin on March 5 in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida and will end on September 10 at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The high point of the season will be the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 28, 2023.
For the rest, compared to this season, Road America is brought forward by one week and the World Wide Technology Raceway is moved back by one week. Thus, the last three races of the season will be contested over three consecutive weekends.
Like this year, Iowa Speedway will host the only doubleheader of the season, with a first race on Saturday July 22 and the second on Sunday July 23.
