24 hours of Le Mans. Sébastien Bourdais is making his comeback in WEC. Sport

Sébastien Bourdais is decidedly indestructible. The Sarthois, at 42, will multiply the programs in 2022. In addition to his involvement with Chip Ganassi Racing, in IMSA (American Endurance Championship), with participation from the end of the month in the 24 Hours of Daytona on a Cadillac DPi, he will also be entered in the endurance world championship, the list of participants for which should be announced on Wednesday.

Sébastien Bourdais should indeed take part in the WEC in an Oreca 07 LMP2 entered by the new British team, Vector Sports. He should team up with Nico Mueller, Audi official driver. Gary Holland, formerly of Jota Sport, will lead the sports team. “I met Gary Holland when he led Risi Competizione at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020, so when he called me I was immediately interested. It will be great to get to know the prototypes at Le Mans, and the Vector Sport program complements the one I have with Cadillac Chip Ganassi Racing extremely well. I can’t wait to start my 2022 year which promises to be busy. «  Note that it was with Chip Ganassi that he won his GTE-Pro victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016, in a Ford GT.

The Sarthois, whose last participation at Le Mans dates back to 2020, in the Ferrari of the Risi Competizione, had not participated in a race in Sarthe on a prototype since 2012. At the time, he was at the start on the Dome S102. 5 of Pescarolo Team, the last race of the Le Mans team.
