24 Hours of Le Mans 2023, a Centenary in 140 stories
On June 10 and 11, 2023, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will join the Tour de France, the Wimbledon tennis tournament, the French Open at Roland-Garros or the Indianapolis 500 in a very exclusive club: that of the major international sporting events that have passed the milestone of their centenary.
One hundred years of passion, challenges, emotions, successes, exploits, innovations… After the presentation of the special trophy produced in partnership with the Monnaie de Paris and which will be awarded to the winning crew on June 11, 2023 , the 24 Hours of Le Mans will revisit their history as part of a major retrospective to discover on their social networks and official website.
This saga in text and images will be divided into four themes of 35 subjects each:
machines and men – Whether or not they won the race, many drivers and cars have left a strong mark on the legend of the 24 Hours. The first by their exploits and their personality, the second by their forms, their originality and the way in which they knew how to register in the long term.
A history of brands – For a century, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and manufacturers is a story of mutual recognition. Many brands have acquired their worldwide notoriety thanks to the 24 Hours while helping to increase the global influence of the race.
A history of innovation – The 24 Hours of Le Mans has always been the most ruthless long-term test bed for many new products: fog and LED lights, windscreen wipers, disc brakes, turbochargers, hybrid engines and many more. still others…
Le Mans, the exception – The fascination of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has long since gone beyond the sphere of motorsport. Many personalities have thus come to live the passion for Le Mans, also embodied by the indispensable track marshals and volunteers.
Four articles will be published each week, one per theme, from October 10 until the Centenary celebrations next June.
