24 hours of Le Mans 2022, The program of the week
Weigh-in for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022 will take place on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June, Place de la République in Le Mans. One by one, all the competitors will have to go through the administrative and technical checks to be awarded the famous sesame so as to participate in the greatest endurance race in the world.

10:00 – 19:00 Technical Administrative Checks / Weighing
More commonly known as “Weighing”, the administrative and technical checks of the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place in the city center of Le Mans, place de la République. 39 cars will be inspected on Friday June 3. The #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GTE Evo entered in the LMGTE Am class will open the ball at 10 a.m.
Weighing : the word is pretty obsolete. It goes back to the origins of sport and automobile competition where we did not yet speak of « verifications » or, in the Anglo-Saxon style, of « scrutineering ».

10:00 – 15:00 Technical Administrative Checks / Weighing
Fans will find Glickenhaus Racing’s two Glickenhaus 007 LMHs and Toyota Gazoo Racing’s two Toyota GR010 Hybrids. The #91 and #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Porsche GT Team will close these administrative and technical checks.

The objective is to prepare as well as possible for the double turn of the clock which will take place in a week. Novice drivers will also get their bearings and will have to complete the ten compulsory laps, five of which are timed, as required by the regulations.

2:00 – 3:00 Pilot autograph session
Spectators can stroll down the pit lane to explore the facilities, watch the mechanics work on the cars, but also try to catch a glimpse of their favorite driver

15:00 – 15:15 Official photo of the pilots
After the briefing led by Eduardo Freitas, the event director, the 186 drivers have an appointment at 6 p.m. on the track for the official photo of the drivers.
15:30 – 17:00 Pit Stop Challenge
New entertainment, the Pit-stop Challenge will see the mechanics of the 62 teams compete. The team which achieves the fastest refueling in its category will be declared the winner of the Pit-stop Challenge. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, four mechanics (in teams of two) are busy changing the wheels during each pit stop.
4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Les R’Hunaudières in Ruaudin
The theme chosen for the 2022 edition: Porsche’s first victory and the filming of the film Le Mans by Steve McQueen. Meet at the Ruaudin sports complex.

The Ligier European Series will tread the asphalt of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit. Launched in 2020, this single-brand series includes Ligier JSP4 and Ligier JS2 R.

Reserved for LMP3 and GT3, this championship allows drivers to get a foothold in the world of Endurance. 50 cars on the track – a record – including several iconic models: Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, Honda NSX GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R, Ferrari 488 GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3 and Aston Martin Vantage GT3. In LMP3, there are the Ligier JS P320 – Nissan and Duqueine M30 – D08 prototypes

The 24 cars (6 LMP1, 6 LMP2, 6 LMGTE Pro, LMGTE Am) which qualified the day before for this Hyperpole session will take part in the pure speed exercise simultaneously. The time retained will be the time achieved by the fastest driver of the crew.

At the end of the afternoon, all the drivers entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans will parade through the city center of Le Mans in historic vehicles.
