NASCAR has just released the 2023 schedules for the NASCAR National Series. Phoenix will once again be the scene of the finals.
For the 75th from NASCAR, the tweaks are minimal, as are the new ones. The city of Chicago makes an appearance with an urban race in both Cup and XFINITY, while the North Wilkesboro Speedway makes a comeback with the All-Star in the Cup and a Truck race the day before.
Otherwise, a few marginal adjustments for a season that will begin on February 5, 2023 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and will end nine months later at Phoenix Raceway.
« As we prepare to celebrate our 75th anniversary, we are committed to delivering a calendar that recognizes the history and tradition of our sport while establishing a bold future that brings the world’s best racing to new markets and new fans. . The 2023 calendars are the result of an ongoing collaboration within our industry and with our partners. We are incredibly proud of what our sport will have to offer fans next season and delighted to celebrate this landmark season with the most diverse track compilation in motorsport.” said Ben Kenenedy, NASCAR vice president in charge of strategy development.
Of note, NASCAR will last visit Auto Club Speedway in its two-mile version at the end of February. The Southern California oval is then to undergo a reconfiguration to become a short track.
In NASCAR XFINITY Series the Texas Motor Speedway loses a date while the Sonoma road circuit will be present.
In the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Knoxville and Sonoma disappear, at the expense of North Wilkesboro and the Milwaukee Mile.
