This ligament injury punishes a failed start to the 2021-2022 season for the Balois, who started with 3 consecutive defeats in the Championship and an expulsion during the wide 0-5 setback against Manchester City. Corollary, Xhaka missed 2 matches for his club in the Premier League due to suspension. He then had to give up the Swiss team’s matches against Greece, Italy and Northern Ireland due to a Covid-19 infection.
