2022 Gold Gloves awarded to MLB’s top defensemen of the season


While the World Series is in full swing, MLB announced Tuesday the winners of the Gold Gloves (the « Golden Gloves ») for the 2022 season. Each year, this distinction rewards the best defenders. Nolan Arenado, the third baseman of the St Louis Cardinals, received his 10th trophy … in ten years of career. He is only the second player in history (after Ichiro Suzuki, the star of Seattle in the 2000s) to have achieved such a performance.

The 2022 Gold Gloves were also scored by 14 first-time award-winning players, including nine for the American League alone. Finally a trophy for the utilities playersthese players who can occupy several positions in defense, was also born this year.
