2022 Best African Player Award: Eagles captain Hamari Troré and two of his teammates among the 30 nominees


The 30 nominees for the award for the best African player 2022 were revealed on Thursday, June 30, 2022. This award recognizes the best African player. Thus, three eagles appear there, namely the captain of the eagles Hamari Traoré; Yves Bissouma; and Aliou Dieng. Since the coronation of the former Sevilla FC and Eagles striker, Fréderic Oumar Kanouté in 2007, no other Malian has so far managed to win the trophy.

Initiated by the African Football Confederation to reward the best African player evolving on the continent and outside, the prize has become the object of desire for African players. The Confederation of African Football released, on Thursday, June 30, 2022, the names of the 30 nominees for the 2022 African Player of the Year award. Among these names are the captain of the Eagles of Mali and Stade Rennes, Hamari Traoré ; Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma; and Aliou Dieng. Among the 30 nominated is the Senegalese Sadio Mané.
