Mayor, partners and organizers met on Monday May 30, 2022 to take stock of the Guerlédan International Tournament (TIG) U13-U12, which will take place on Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12, 2022, in different municipalities: Pontivy (Morbihan) , Noyal-Pontivy, Saint-Thuriau, Cléguérec, Pluméliau, Mûr-de-Bretagne (Côtes-d’Armor), Loudéac (Côtes-d’Armor). The latter will host 208 teams (128 men and 70 women).
In Baud, a U14 tournament will bring together 40 boys’ teams and 16 girls’ teams.
After the fiasco of the Champions League final and after two years of absence due to Covid-19, Central Brittany will be keen to show how a respectful and orderly international competition is organized. 3,500 players will be divided into 300 teams. In total, 20,000 people (including delegations) meet in mid-June around football.

Our desire is to make the children meet, to forge links. And I thank all the participants for having participated in this project, declares Thierry Talhouët, director of the tournament. For this new edition, many municipalities will welcome delegations: Pontivy, Loudéac, Merdrignac (Côtes-d’Armor), Guerlédan (Côtes-d’Armor), Cléguérec, Pluméliau-Bieuzy, Baud, Saint-Thuriau and Noyal-Pontivy, and many business partners are involved in the project: Groupama, CMB, RMN, MC Informatique, etc.
The Rêves association, which makes the dreams of seriously ill children come true, will also be present.
The three-day program
On Friday June 10, the town of Pontivy will host the parade of 300 teams, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Saturday June 11, the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the various partner municipalities.
If the organizers deplore that
due to the Ukrainian context, some teams have withdrawn, in particular teams from the American continentthey are happy to welcome prestigious teams like
PSG, Barça, Juve, Atlético (holder of the men’s title), FC Porto (holder of the women’s title), Braga and Sporting.
The final phase of the tournament will take place on Sunday June 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., in Pontivy at the Faubourg de Verdun stadium for the men, in Baud for the women.
