Unveiled to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1990, the new 911 Turbo type 964 succeeds the 930 Turbo 3.3L « widowmaker ». It takes over the wide fenders, the mythical Fuchs rims bow out in favor of no less sublime 5-spoke rims. The 964 Turbo 3.3L gains 20 horsepower, allowing the aircooled flat 6 to deliver 320 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and propel the car to 270 km/h. The 0 to 100 km/h is shot in 5 seconds, the 1000m standing start in 24.5 seconds. 3,660 copies and three years later, the engine capacity will be increased to 3.6L.

Externally, the Porsche 911 type 964 is the profound evolution of a base dating from 1963. Of course, with the help of technology, the engineers have succeeded in transfiguring a car which nevertheless retains its own identity and unique character. Impossible not to find in the 964 the original charm of the 911. Among other things, the 964 Turbo adopts Cup Design exterior mirrors and black brake calipers. It also benefits from two side exhaust outlets.

The 964 Turbo benefits from this new generation triangulated running gear, which marks a break with 25 years of use of torsion bars. At the front, as at the rear, the combined springs-shock absorbers are emerging, for better guidance. With standard power steering, handling becomes exceptional. In addition, the G50/52 5-speed manual gearbox is excellent. Apart from ABS, the car has no assistance, but the precision of the front axle and high-speed stability are two qualities that can be attributed to the Turbo.

The copy we are offering is in superb condition, this car has benefited from regular and healthy maintenance. Its exterior in the very rare Amazon Green color is a real asset, which is added to a relatively low mileage and whose evolution is attested by the large file of invoices and technical inspections. Matching colors and matching numbers, with its original service book and instructions, this is an excellent example of the 964 Turbo, especially since this 911 has just benefited from a full ceramic treatment.
